Style & Direction
Brand visual style
A default look for every shoot, seeded from your Brand DNA — seven style slots you confirm once and reuse.
Your house style, set once
Every brand has a look — the lighting, the grade, the mood that makes a shot feel like yours. Brand Visual Style captures that as your default, so every shoot starts from your house style instead of a blank slate.
Vermeer seeds a starting style from your Brand DNA, and you confirm it. From then on, it’s applied to every shoot automatically. You set it once; it rides every shot.
The seven style slots
Your style is described across seven slots, each a distinct creative choice:
- Medium — the kind of image (photography, illustration, and so on).
- Grade — the color treatment (warm, cool, muted, vivid).
- Finish — the surface quality (clean, filmic, textured).
- Lens — the optical feel (wide, tight, shallow depth).
- Time of day — golden hour, midday, blue-hour dusk.
- Lighting — soft and natural, hard and dramatic, and everything between.
- Mood — the emotional register the shots live in.
Each slot offers curated presets, and you can add your own with a free-text option. Leave a slot empty and Vermeer treats it as an intentional “photoreal default,” not a gap.
Confirm what came from your Brand DNA
Some slots are pre-filled from your Brand DNA but marked as suggested — shown lightly, with a “from your brand DNA — confirm” hint. The moment you interact with one, it’s confirmed as yours. This keeps the difference clear between “Vermeer’s best guess from your brand” and “a choice you’ve actually made.”
Style for one shoot vs your default
Your Brand Visual Style is the default. When you write a Directed Shoot Brief, you can adjust the style for that one run without changing your default — the changes apply to that shoot only. Your house style stays intact for everything else.
