Directed shoot brief

Write the shoot you want in plain English — Vermeer reconciles it to your brand and shows you exactly what it changed.

Describe the shoot, in your own words

Sometimes you have a specific shoot in mind: “a sunlit rooftop at golden hour, relaxed summer energy.” The Directed Shoot Brief lets you write that direction in plain English and have Vermeer build the shoot around it.

You don’t fill out a form. You describe the scene — the place, the light, the mood — and Vermeer turns it into a coherent shoot.

Reconciled to your brand, transparently

Here’s the part that protects your brand: Vermeer takes your free-text direction and reconciles it to your Brand DNA. If your direction drifts from your established look, Vermeer pulls it back toward your brand — and shows you a plain “what changed” diff so you see every correction it made.

For example, if you wrote “neon rave energy” but your brand lives in warm, retro-summer tones, you’d see something like: shifted neon → golden-hour to match your brand. Each change comes with a short reason.

Accept, regenerate, or discard

Once Vermeer proposes the reconciled shoot, you’re in control:

  • Accept — lock it in and render.
  • Regenerate — try a different reconciliation.
  • Discard — drop the direction and fall back to a standard on-brand shoot.

The directed brief never blocks a shoot. If something goes wrong drafting it, Vermeer falls back gracefully to a standard run — you’re never stuck.

When to reach for it

Use a Directed Shoot Brief when you have a clear creative vision for a specific shoot and want Vermeer to execute it your way — while still keeping it honest to your brand. For everyday shoots, your Brand Visual Style default already carries the look, so you can skip the brief entirely.
